I launched the WhiteMath website on the 10th of July 2007. Now, just 50 days later, I've had visitors from 164 countries. More importantly I now have students learning mathematics by email for free, in 131 countries.

No doubt you've read some of the testimonials I've received. Yet what you haven't read - are all the emails asking me why I'm giving so much away for free!

Well, I guess this is where the crazy part kicks in, because the reason I'm giving away mathematics lessons is to help end starvation!

OK, I expect that you're just about to stop reading and visit some other website. Yet just in case you're interested, please feel welcome to read on...

Perhaps you read a bit about me at the bottom of the White Math home page. In case you didn't, my idea is simple. Just reduce the number of people starving to death by 12 people a day. That's it! Because in 12 years, starvation can be history!

We need to change the game!

Remember when President J. F. Kennedy said let's safely send a man to the moon and back by the end of the decade? No? Well I don't either, yet the point is that it happened and the whole world was amazed at this achievement.

So what is the world focussed on now? OK you, in the front row, with your hand on the mouse. What's YOUR answer? 

My answer is let's end starvation! It's such an easy and attainable goal! In the 1960's around 41,000 people died daily. Now it's down to around 24,000 people EVERY DAY. That's 1000 an hour or 16 a minute. In fact in the time you've been reading this page, 30 people have died because they didn't have clean water or enough food. Around 22 will have been children...

So while many people in developed countries die because of causes related to obesity, don't you think it odd that thousands die for exactly the opposite reason in developing countries? 

Back in the late 1980's I wrote to the richest man on the planet about an idea I had to help end starvation. His lawyers wrote back and said I had to agree to handing over all intellectual property rights related to my idea before it would be considered. Interesting...

Then many years later I again began agitating for change. While many world leaders, nobel peace prize winners and religious leaders supported my ideas at the time - still nothing really got off the ground.

So here I am again, with perhaps my most bizarre approach! 

To get the world to understand the simple mathematics of ending starvation, I've decided to teach to world a completely new form of mathematics - White Math! White? It's every colour as one. All races, perhaps dedicated with the single minded focus of ending starvation. White? It's a frequency. Some call it love. Some call it energy... Yet that's where I'll end the meta-physical stuff!
